Thanks for visiting this site which is dedicated to the life of Ralph Douglas Wolfe, who left this earth way too soon. The purpose of this site is to keep his memory alive by celebrating his life and sharing stories, pictures, and fond memories.

Ralph and I  were married for 14 years and he is the father of my two wonderful kids, Lucy and Jack.  He unfortunately died of metastatic melanoma in 1993 at the age of 43. Though his time on earth was shortened, he enriched the lives of many as a father, husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, co-worker and community member.

This poem* was given to me by Ralph's neurosurgeon, Dr. Marx Bowen, at Ralph's memorial service at Mt. Auburn Cemetery. It captures my feelings and ones I believe would have resonated with Ralph:

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

* Written in 1932 by Mary Elizabeth Fry

Today is September 7, 2018 and the 25th anniversary of Ralph's death.  It is hard to believe that it has been that long. We all still love and miss Ralph. I am updating the site to include more recent events, particularly those associated with our 2 great kids Lucy and Jack, who Ralph loved dearly and would be so proud of today.

Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to peruse the site and contact me if you have anything you would like to share-- Betty
